Author Biography

Travis is an Army Reserve officer recently returned from Afghanistan, who wrote a personal wartime account published in the book Stories From a Soldier's Heart. A native of Montana who has sojourned in North Texas for nearly ten years (where he resides with his wife and six children), he somehow managed to pick up eight or nine foreign languages along the way. He's a long-time fan of science fiction, fantasy, and historical fiction, and he blended these genres together in his first novel, The Crystal Portal, co-authored with Mike Lynch. He also contributed three short stories to the Splashdown anthology Aquasynthesis. Find him on Facebook: or his blog at
