Author Biography

Although born in the San Francisco Bay area, Lemanatele Mark Kneubuhl has lived most of his life in American Samoa, and he feels that his novel, The Smell of the Moon, reflects a 'chop suey' upbringing. "I'm sure it was a bad time for my parents, but after their divorce, I was introduced to Samoa and have lived a wonderful life - the best of both worlds." Over the years, Kneubuhl has self-published a novella and a collection of short stories, both supported in part by the Consortium for Pacific Arts and Culture. The Smell of the Moon is his first novel.
